In "Anxiety," one of the tracks from her brand new album M.I.A., R&B songstress Karri articulates the struggle to find motivation and purpose amidst the chaos. Singing against the soothing soudscape of an a acappella chorus, Karri shares the inner monologue of someone who is trying desperately to claw her way out of a state of anxious depression. The song concludes with this triumphant declaration of faith. In this episode, Emmeline and Karri talk about the struggle that led to the song, how the song informed Karri's new record, and how Karri wrote her way out of the anxiety created by the simultaneous storms of the global pandemic and social unrest.
