"Have I got time up my sleeve?"
With these words, Dallas-based singer-songwriter Tusing concludes "Up My Sleeve," the second single from his new album, Driving to the Game. In "Up My Sleeve," Tusing expresses and examines the push and pull of time and the core fear therein that motivates so many of us into and out of relationships, dreams, and realities. The driving acoustic guitar, paired with Tusing's thoughtful and laidback vocals, challenges the listener to find peace within uncertainty. In this episode, Emmeline and Tusing discuss the challenges and excitements of recording an album live, the joy of spontaneity in art, the return of live music, and the depth with which artists improve as they age. They also talk about how Tusing invents verses in his live shows, how long he keeps a song to himself before sharing it with the audience, and how he picked the title for his new album.
